"We have had State Farm for several years and they have always done a fine job of taking care of us. From prompt response from the team; and fair rates. We had to make a claim on one of vehicles that was totaled by a deer in 2022 and the claims process was very easy; mostly done through the app, which I liked. We spoke directly to Steve in our last interaction and he was pleasant, efficient and helpful with our personal circumstance."

"This branch of State Farm has given me ONE of the worst experiences I’ve had with dealing with an insurance agency. I usually don’t take any time out of my day to write blogs, reviews or anything of the sort because I respect that people work hard and understand the detriment a negative review will bring, but this branch of State Farm and State Farm as a whole is very much deserving of it. I’ve paid EVERY month for years & finally get into an accident where State Farm now has a chance to come, and prove that the monthly payments are worth it, and they’ve totally dropped the ball in numerous ways. I feel like I’ve paid money for nothing and that just me rubs me the wrong way. First and foremost, my vehicle is totaled out, but they still feel the need to ask for payment for a vehicle I no longer have. They claim I never called which is so asinine, considering the fact they know I no longer have a vehicle to insure. Like, why aren’t you guys communicating amongst each other? Why do I have to do your jobs when it should be as simple as diving into my account and seeing I no longer have a vehicle to insure? Secondly, the front desk lady Kalee, has called numerous times to collect payment throughout the years when I’ve been a little late on it, but didn’t feel the need to call during this stressful time of going through claims and etc to let me know that I can cancel payment since I no longer have a car. When asked why she didn’t call and explain this, in a snooty manner, she retorted that she text me. Like, when is text a substitute for handling business professionally??? To make matters worse, I was told I would have a rental for x amount of time & later told that I would have to return it sooner. When I questioned them on miscommunication that they have internally amongst each other, I was told “Sorry someone told you that, but there’s nothing we can do.” …but you can collect my money EVERY month and the one time you get a chance to do your job, you can’t meet customers at their needs? Awesome!!! I don’t have a vehicle due to the fact my claim hander was out sick for a period of time and couldn’t get me my paper work & no one answered the phone nor assisted him in his work in his absence. Instead, they just pass the buck and don’t take responsibility. It’s been a fiasco, I’ve already made the decision to leave them due to multiple headaches dealing with their lack of service and honestly, I don’t feel valued as a customer. I feel like I shuffle them money every month and when I need them to come through for me, they have a laissez faire attitude towards me & my dilemma. I refuse to give anyone my business who can’t serve, be professional and handle business in a timely manner. Maybe you have a different experience and I’m glad you do and wish you the best, but this is mine and I advise anyone looking into State Farm to hightail it the other way and go with another provider. Their reputation in Cedar Rapids, IA is extremely horrible due to their lack of service during the Derecho storm and if it wasn’t for the fact I already had them prior to, I would’ve heeded the warnings from various CR residents who are more than disappointed in how there were treated during probably one of the most difficult times in their life. I now too can relate to the frustration. Didn’t want to do this, but I’m extremely upset and since I don’t get the service I thought I would, I’m going to tell it like it is and leave this review here."

It is standard protocol for our staff to reach out to request a time to discuss your claim to make sure everything is proceeding as is needed. I trust this was the experience you have had with us prior to this most recent claim. As you probably noticed through our numerous great reviews, my agency prides itself in top notch insurance services, from great rates, to great customer service. I truly believe that is part of what makes the difference in how your service and claims goes, isn't a reflection so much of the insurance company, but rather the agent and his/her team. I got quotes from both of those companies and chose State Farm because of their pricing. I will save approximately $1600.00 this year alone over what I was paying Nationwide.
